'When Gina Chapman became an owner of The Pet Village in Rock Hill, South Carolina last year, her first order of business was to end the sale of puppies and other live animals in the store. The business now focuses its services on “luxury cageless pet boarding and grooming” instead. The shop partners with Chapman’s Dachshund Rescue to offer dogs for adoption, and also maintains a list of local rescue groups on its website.
Gina was recently joined by her sister, Caren Wallace, [of Chester Grooming Barn] as an equal partner in running the store. According to the Pet Village website, “We strongly believe in the power of rescue and adoption to change the lives not only of pets but also of the families who become their furever homes.” The success of their business shows that the pet products and services industry can prosper without relying on selling mill-bred animals."'
It's a New Day at The Pet Village!
We no longer offer animals for sale (no puppies, kittens, fish, rats, etc.). If you're looking for a new member of the family, connect with Chapman's Dachshund Rescue or check out our Adoption Guide. WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SELL PETS (or prey animals).
We have been recognized by The Humane Society of the United States for our philosophy of helping families adopt instead of shopping while offering affordable luxury grooming and cage-free boarding services.
