April 1, 2020 Update

    Three things:

    1. THANK YOU!
    2. Appointments now *required*.
    3. We're taking a break Thursday, April 2nd and closing grooming/bathing on Mondays. (Boarding is still 7 days a week.)

We *greatly* appreciate your support during this strange time. As a small business, we rely on you for our livelihood and you'd stood by us! Our hearts are FULL! We have been overwhelmed by everyone's support and generosity. Problem is, it's become literally overwhelming... too many people want to show up last minute. We know you're bored at home but we can't operate efficiently or sanely given current last-minute demand.

Starting Friday, April 3rd, a minimum 2-days advance appointment is required for all grooming and bathing services. Call us at 803-366-7350 for appointments. There will be NO "WALK-INS". Even nail trims will require an advance appointment. You are welcome to call and ask if we can squeeze you in the same or next day but expect that we're probably going to schedule you for 2 days out. All services are provided with curbside drop-off and pickup with minimal contact. Our lobby is locked.

To give our staff time to stay healthy (mentally and physically), our open days are changing. We will be open Tuesday-Saturday, from 8a-5p for grooming and bathing services. Grooming and bathing is closed Sunday and Monday. Scheduled boarding is still available 7-days a week and we have someone who lives on-site to watch after the needs of our boarding clients.

Thanks again for you support! We truly appreciate your trust and business! We look forward to serving you now and for many years to come.

    Gina & Caren

  • 'When Gina Chapman became an owner of The Pet Village in Rock Hill, South Carolina last year, her first order of business was to end the sale of puppies and other live animals in the store. The business now focuses its services on “luxury cageless pet boarding and grooming” instead. The shop partners with Chapman’s Dachshund Rescue to offer dogs for adoption, and also maintains a list of local rescue groups on its website.

Gina was recently joined by her sister, Caren Wallace, [of Chester Grooming Barn] as an equal partner in running the store. According to the Pet Village website, “We strongly believe in the power of rescue and adoption to change the lives not only of pets but also of the families who become their furever homes.” The success of their business shows that the pet products and services industry can prosper without relying on selling mill-bred animals."'
